Known as the gateway to Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park, Moab makes a great home-base for adventures of all kinds in the surrounding area.
The proximity of the La Sal Mountains to Moab, with the Colorado River running through the red rock desert creates a varied terrain unlike any other.
Scenic Byways & Aerial
Explore the perfect backdrop on any one of three nearby Scenic Byways (313, 128, & 279). Literally pick a direction, and drive! Hwy 128 has two options - follow the colorado river or take a turn for the La Sal Loop Road. See the landscape in its entirety from Deadhorse State Park. Or, Mix it up, and see it by air in a scenic flight.

With countless towers, arches and canyons, fins and more - There are miles and miles of both paved and off-road trails - Moab, Utah is a mecca to travelers seeking world-class scenery. For 4x4 Trails - Hire a local Hummer Tour on Hell’s Revenge - the sunset is unforgettable!
Biking & Motorcycling, Equestrian
Moab is a natural playground with stunning views - for riders on any trail. The slickrock trail, the Sovereign trail system, and the Whole Enchilada are some of the most epic terrain around. for a little less Gnar, hit up Double Down Bike shop for Rentals/Repairs/shuttles. mountain Bikes and Motorcycles alike can find appreciation for the more technical areas. Road biking a century is so good - we celebrate it annually! Hit the trails via horseback as well.
Hiking, Archeology & History
There are elements of the wild west alive and kicking in Moab, with archeological, cultural, and historic sites in the area that offer surprisingly human elements in the remote wilderness, DO a Petroglyph or Dinosaur Track tour, for reminders of eras both long and recently passed.
Colorado River
We’ve got rafting for Days! With the nearby Green River, you can easily immerse yourself in river time for a day or seven.

Getting to Moab
Getting to Moab is now easier than ever, with local flights through SkyWest/United Airlines daily between Canyonlands Field Airport (CNY) and Denver, CO (DEN). This service began May 1st, 2018. There will be two round-trip flights a day, except on Tuesdays and Wednesdays when only one round-trip flight will occur. In addition, the Grand Junction Airport is next closest - at 1 ½ hour away. the Denver, Salt Lake City, and Las Vegas airports are all located within 3 ½ - 5 hours, with options for both rental cars and shuttles available.
